I have an over 45 year obsession with brick + mortar (heart and soul) retail business. I grew up outside Philadelphia in my parents gourmet food store. Over the span of my career I have worked in the NYC art + gallery worlds, then as a florist followed by stints in retail shop management, work as a stationery buyer and as a shop decorator. One of my more recent projects was Iris, an online and brick + mortar reflection of my lifelong interests in art, artist books and writing.
I love the process of growing businesses that align with personal identity and broader social values. I think the less polished, the better. Presently I am building a new project, working my art practice and helping others articulate their unique ideas as a freelance creative and retail consultant.
